Megginch Castle
Your Wedding
What's so unique about a wedding at Megginch Castle?
We only host about 10 weddings each year at Megginch Castle as it’s primarily our family home…and on your wedding day it will feel like yours too.
This rarity value allows us to be much more flexible than most other venues on timings and how your day is run.
It’s not just the castle that is stunning. You will be spoilt for choice for your wedding photos at any time of year. Your backdrop can be the formal Victorian garden and adjoining croquet lawn. Or maybe out in the gothic courtyard (the setting for the 1995 film Rob Roy). Or how about out in the walled gardens or the historic orchard?
Make your day unique
Each wedding at Megginch is different. Some couples choose to get married outside in between the beautiful fountains of the 19th century formal garden. Others at the end of the holly walk with the trees forming a natural aisle.
For indoor weddings some choose the newly refurbished conservatory or the ancient little chapel out in our woods where we got married ourselves. But come and take a look - you may have other thoughts as to where you want to marry and how you would like your day to run. And we love new ideas!
Come back again the next day!
Because we won’t be frantically preparing for the “next wedding” we also enjoy welcoming couples back the following day with as many of their guests that can make it to enjoy a relaxed brunch. This may be in the walled garden, the orchard, the conservatory.. the choice is yours. On a wet day the venue is still there for you and your guests… we can't let the weather stop the party!
This ability to regroup and reflect back on the happy day really makes your wedding weekend complete.
Couples also love the flexibility of being able to oversee set-up day basing themselves in our luxury wedding suite which is just above the venue itself. Brides often choose to stay here the night before the wedding with a few bridesmaids or friends and then they are already onsite to prepare the next morning for the best day of their life.
