Apartment layout
The luxury wedding suite went through a full renovation in 2022 and now boasts a four poster bed in the bedroom and a modern beautifully tiled ensuite bathroom with separate large shower, luxury bath and underfloor heating.
The living area is in two sections.
Firstly a compact but fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, sink, fridge, storage and extractor fan.
Secondly a beautiful sitting room with a large luxury sofabed all overlooking the walled gardens and orchard beyond.
The apartment is yours for the whole of the day before your wedding, during the wedding itself, and the whole of the day after your wedding. We really do want you to feel at home at the castle and you will find it so convenient to be able to pop down to the ballroom just down the stairs during set-up day to make sure everything is just right for the best day of your life...
The night before your wedding
This is when brides will often gather a few bridesmaids / sisters / friends for their “night before champagne evening”. Who wouldn’t want to spend their last unmarried evening with close friends or family sipping champagne in a castle? And the sofabed is there for one or two to stay the night with you.
Your wedding day
This is where being on location for your wedding really helps. No need to have the extra stress of “what if the car is late or the traffic is bad?”. You can relax knowing that your wedding waits for you just a few steps down the stairs. In fact you don't have to move at all! hair and makeup will be up to see you early in the morning and get you and your family and friends ready for the wonderful day ahead.
The proximity of the apartment to the venue has its advantages on the wedding day for other reasons too. Older relatives may want to take a little time out and go in for a quick cup of tea. Or maybe you have some mothers with young babies that want to feed them in private. They just have to pop up the stairs and there they are….
The day after your wedding
As you eventually wake up as a married couple you will look out over the gothic courtyard and out to the gardens beyond. Now where did you choose for your “day after” brunch? The walled garden? The orchard? Or did you find somewhere else to invite your guests back to for a relaxing reminiscence of the day before?
Remember a wedding at Megginch Castle is not just about the wedding day.. it's three days of your life when the Castle will become your home.
